Public How to help those affected by the La Palma volcano?

Madrid

Updated:

Public

The lava from the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma is destroying hundreds of homes. According to the latest data from the Copernicus program, more than 350 houses have already been totally destroyed . The desperate residents of the island need help while staying at the homes of relatives and sports centers.

Clothes, food, donations and even toys . Due to the spread of ash, FFP2 masks and eye and face protection goggles are also important. Any type of help is welcome by the palm growers and collections are being organized on the islands with different help points where donations can be made. If you want to help, from Public we leave you the way to do it:

Bank account donations

The Cabildo de La Palma has enabled several ways to centralize financial donations . It is more advisable to do it to this account instead of donating directly to the affected municipalities. You can donate through Bizum with the code 03747 , and transfers can be made to the account ES47 2100 9169 0122 0017 9456, with the concept 'Volcano Donation ' and the addressee, 'Cabido insular de La Palma'.

The Red Cross has also made available to citizens the Bizum code 03165 and the current account ES90 2100 6617 8222 0097 4717.

Collection of clothing and footwear from the islands

The Federation of Entrepreneurs of La Palma (Fedepalma), has established several collection points: in Calle Anselmo Pérez Brito, 2, in Casa Cabrera; in the multipurpose buildings in Santa Cruz de la Palma (lower left, above the Post Office); and in the Llanos de Ariadne on Calle El Calvario, 11.

They warn that what they need most right now is underwear, socks, sheets, shoes, towels, pillows, gluten-free food, lactose-free food, baby food and FFP2 masks.

The Student Delegation of the Faculty of Legal Sciences in Gran Canaria has also joined the collection: "From the delegation we have wanted to join the collection of material for the island of La Palma, we request the help of students, teachers, etc. The material can be deposited in all the concierges of the legal sciences buildings until September 30.

It is advisable to review any type of neighborhood or business association , since many are also collecting material, clothing and food for those affected by the volcano on the rest of the islands.
