They build a hotel in former Cabaret Montmartre and Moscow Restaurant of Vedado

The Cuban government began the construction of a new hotel in the central corner of Humbolt and P, in the Havana Vedado, just where the iconic Montmartre night club and cabaret rose, which would later be converted into the Moscow restaurant.

Images posted on social networks attest that demolition work has already begun and the street remains closed with a sign that says "Hotel under construction".

In the capital ramp a new signaling indicates that P "Street remains closed" and recommends "travel on the street or".

It is a property that was uninhabitable in 1989 after a fire at the Moscow restaurant, which had been inaugurated there in 1980.

Before that date many Cubans ended their habaneras nights in that corner, which in the 40s and 50s hosted the Montmartre.

The building had been in ruins for 30 years. In the first decades of the twentieth century there was a Dodge car agency and then a greyhound race track was built.Games, money, exotic flavors and a touch of lust in Havana night, distinguished the busy corner, predestined to have the most French cabaret in Cuba, which was visited by Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner during their honeymoon in1947.

Given the confirmation of the construction of another hotel in Havana, where other similar constructions such as 3rd and 70s in Miramar are also ending, the Cubans wondered when the government will invest in the houses for the town.

"And the houses for the people for when? And the people do not demand houses? Keep enduring the humiliation and misery patiently," an internet user questioned.

They also criticized the official discourse that justifies the delays in the construction of housing with the shortage of resources: "PA 'that (hotels) there is a money ..." they said.

Recently another Internet user posted on Facebook images of another hotel in front of the Havana Malecon, next to G Street, and recalled that while these large buildings get up the houses of the Cubans fall apart.
