Paiporta presents two new 2'8 km bike lane sections to connect with the metropolitan green ring

Paiporta has approved the construction of two new sections of bike lanes totaling 2.8 kilometers more to the vial network destined for sustainable mobility.With a global investment of 231.000 euros, the Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Sustainability will adapt a section of 904 meters on the Albal road, and 1.9 kilometers on the road of Valencia.This last section will allow connecting the Paiportina network with the future metropolitan green ring, which surrounds the city of València for different locations in L'Horta.

The two new sections of bike lanes have been announced this Friday, during the presentation of the European Mobility Week, which is celebrated in Paiporta for the seventh consecutive year, and which will consist of different activities to raise awareness about the need to extend aEnvironmental respectful mobility as an effective way to fight climate change and promote health.Information about the week and inscriptions for activities are on the Paiporta website.It is/setmanamobilitat.

The new bike lane of the Valencia road will connect the new roundabout of the CV-406, before the elevated passage to Picanya, with the metropolitan green ring, where it will link at the height of the CV-404.Therefore, it will be located on Francesc Ciscar and Independencia avenues.The budget for this lane of 1.904 meters is 187.894 euros (VAT included).

The other bike lane will be located on the Albal road, from José Capuz Street to Serra de Aitana Street, and will border the L'Horta urbanization.It will have a length of 904 meters and the investment in its construction amounts to 43.525 euros.Both lanes will have two meters of width and double direction of circulation, and will be segregated from shot traffic with different systems, such as plastic separators or concrete curbs.

With these two new lanes, Paiporta adds 5.4 kilometers of this type of roads since 2018, and continues to advance in the guidelines marked by the Urban Plan for Sustainable Mobility (PMUS), approved in 2017, and indicated the need toHave an infrastructure of this type connected, which served to join the key points of the town between them, and to connect the town with neighboring towns and other infrastructure, such as the metropolitan green ring.
